Description :
Powder characteristic machine FM-PCM-A101 is a stand-alone multi-functional unit for comprehensive measurement of physical properties of the free flowing or static powder. It measures flowability, tap and bulk density, angle of repose, collapse, difference, compressibility and other characteristics of a powder sample. With good repeatability rate and guaranteed accuracy of each test, it finds application in packaging, production, quality testing and research analysis across Food & Drug, Chemicals & Dyes, Pharmaceutical, and Life science industries.
Features:
- Two phase system to measure static or flowing state of powders
-
Made up of 304 stainless steel, prevents machine from rust
-
Flexible measurement conditions, user-friendly operations
-
Adjustable (1 to 15 mm) tap density vibration amplitude
-
Availability of 100 ml, 50 ml, 25 ml Cylinders for measurement of samples
-
Availability of different test hopper and cups
-
Can measure the Difference angle (difference between angle of repose nad collapse) which states the flowability of powder
-
Can measure the Compression ratio (ratio between tap and bulk density), the smaller value defines better fluidity of the powder

Test Method:
Test name | Details |
Tap Density, Bulk Density, Angle of Collapse, Angle of Repose, Flat Angle, Dispersion Test Method | They are in accordance with ASTM D6393-99 Standard (Carl Index) |
Hall Flow Meter | Measures fluidity of metal powders which can flow through funnel with pore size of 2.5 mm |
Void ratio | Based on particle shape, structure, and diameter of the particle present in powder void ratio is calculated. Spherical particles: 40% void ratio. Ultrafine or Irregular particles: 70-80% or higher |
Agglutination degree | Amount of mutual cohesion shown by the particles present on surface of powder. Dry powder: small degree of agglutination |
Uniformity | In a failed attempt to measure agglutination of powder the test of uniformity confirms the amount of cohesive force of the powder |
Liquidity index | Is sum total of angle of repose, plate angle, compression, uniformity, and agglutination |
Jet index | Measures difficulty of dust generation and difficulty of liquefaction of powders |
|
